SupremeAG for Wine-Grape Vineyards

SupremeAG™ for Wine-Grape Vineyards

Vitis vinifera is an iron-loving vine. SupremeAG™ by RanchRevive delivers a proprietary mineral matrix to the drip line where the feeder roots actually live — supporting tannin structure, anthocyanin development, and mineral-mediated Brix in a way generic NPK programs cannot.

Why Vitis vinifera responds differently than row crops

Wine grapes are not corn. V. vinifera evolved on calcareous, mineral-rich, iron-bearing slopes. The vine's phenolic chemistry — tannins, anthocyanins, aromatic precursors — is mineral-mediated all the way down.

  • Tannin structure is driven by polyphenol biosynthesis pathways requiring iron, manganese, copper, and zinc.
  • Anthocyanin development is iron-dependent. Iron-deficient blocks produce pale, dilute wines.
  • Brix is mineral-mediated sugar.

Where the matrix goes: the drip line

Vineyard application of SupremeAG™ is built around the drip line, not the trunk. On standard VSP trellis at 8x5 spacing, the drip line band is roughly 18–30 inches off the trunk on either side.

Per-vine and per-acre application math

  • 4 lb × 1,000 vines = 4,000 lb per acre per season
  • ~$280 per acre all-in product cost per season
  • A 40-acre block: ~$11,200/season
  • A 100-acre estate program: ~$28,000/season

A premium AVA block at 3.5 tons/acre and $3,500/ton fruit value is generating $12,250/acre in gross fruit revenue. A $280/acre mineral program is roughly 2.3% of gross fruit revenue.

Timing: post-budbreak through pre-veraison

Stage 1 — Post-budbreak

First band-application under the drip line as soon as the vine has put out 4–6 leaves.

Stage 2 — Post-bloom / fruit set

Second band-application after fruit set.

Stage 3 — Pre-veraison

Final application 3–4 weeks before veraison. Iron and manganese availability at this stage maps directly to color and structure at harvest.

Stop applications at veraison.

Iron, the limiting nutrient on most vineyard sites

The chelated iron in SupremeAG™ is carried by an organic acid system that keeps it plant-available even in soils where free iron would normally precipitate out.

Use cases

  • Rejuvenating tired blocks — 25- to 40-year-old vine plantings.
  • Premium AVA programs — estate operations graded on phenolic structure.
  • Iron-chlorotic sites — calcareous, high-pH soils.
  • Custom-crush contract blocks — hitting fruit-grade targets.
